Sorrento Therapeutics (“Sorrento”) is looking for Research Associate to help with gene-editing enzyme production and DNA plasmid cGMP production including process development and manufacturing. Major tasks include: Buffer preparation, bacteria culture including fermentation and harvest, bacteria lysis and protein and plasmid DNA purification.




  • Reagent preparation, PCR, Agar gel and PAGE gel electrophoresis, plasmid DNA isolation, bacteria culture and protein purification and analytic method development.
  • Adhere to the production schedule ensuring on-time, internal production logistics.
  • Work in a team based, cross-functional environment to complete production tasks required by shift schedule.
  • Write SOPs and BPRs based on process development results.
  • Follow detailed directions (Batch Record execution) in a GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records for both electronic laboratory notebook and weekly reports.
  • Previous fermenter experience and AKTA experience are preferred.





  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related disciplines with >1 years relevant experience.
  • Experienced with aseptic cell culture and fermentation is preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with group members.
